Parliamentary Debate at Berkeley is immensely grateful to everyone who supported the team in our fundraising tournament last semester. Thanks to all our generous donors, we were able to travel 5 teams to the Mile High Swing Tournament at the University of Texas, Tyler in early January. The significantly reduced financial burden on our team allowed us to focus on preparing for the tournament, where we took both championships and overall sweepstakes. We’d like to thank everyone below for contributing to our team and allowing a 100% student-run organization to continue providing opportunities for students to engage in the educational activity and compete with other university-sponsored teams all over the country.

Thank you for visiting our Donation page! Cal Parli (as we are known in the debate community) is one of the only student-run teams in the country! Since we are not designated as an organization, we don't receive as much funding as a university-integrated program. It is from generous donations from our Alumni and the tireless efforts of the members of the team that we continue to exist and compete at a national level. Aside from donations, Cal Parli raises money by judging local tournaments, working at the Cal Invitational, and running our own high school and college tournament.

As a 501c3, your donation to Cal Parli is tax-deductible! And with our page on Cal Giving, it takes only moments to give back! Your donation allows Cal Parli to do all of the following:

  1. Travel to local and national tournaments
  2. Pay for high registration fees
  3. Travel to Nationals (both NPTE and NPDA)
